Memorial Kids’ Classic Golf Tournament
This annual event benefits The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. Teams of four are $600. Sponsorship level opportunities are still available. Tee times are 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with a complimentary lunch before or after you play. Beverages are provided. The format is a four person scramble with handicap. Basic Breastfeeding Class
This two-hour session is designed to educate and support the mother planning to breastfeed. Topics include information on preparing to breastfeed, basic breastfeeding concepts, nutrition, and a discussion of common concerns. Issues such as family support for the breastfeeding mother, the father’s role in feeding, and how to breastfeed and continue to work are also covered. Your support person is encouraged to attend. This group is open to individuals with cancers of the head and neck area and their caregivers. At the meetings, we will hear from experts in the treatment of head and neck cancer and have a group discussion. 21st Annual Teddy Bear Hospital
Join us for the Teddy Bear Hospital’s 21st anniversary. This annual event is sponsored by The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. Children age 10 and under are invited to bring their favorite toy to a mock hospital for a check up. The children learn about the hospital and get to visit with many other community volunteers, including firefighters, police officers, rescue dogs, and more.
