Memorial Kids’ Classic Golf Tournament

This annual event benefits The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. Teams of four are $600. Sponsorship level opportunities are still available. Tee times are 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with a complimentary lunch before or after you play. Beverages are provided. The format is a four person scramble with handicap. Basic Breastfeeding Class

This two-hour session is designed to educate and support the mother planning to breastfeed. Topics include information on preparing to breastfeed, basic breastfeeding concepts, nutrition, and a discussion of common concerns. Issues such as family support for the breastfeeding mother, the father’s role in feeding, and how to breastfeed and continue to work are also covered. Your support person is encouraged to attend. Prostate Cancer Screening

Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute is offering free prostate cancer screenings to men who qualify. The screening includes a PSA blood test and physician exam. Educational materials will be provided by the American Cancer Society.

All men age 50+ should have a prostate cancer screening every year. African American men and men with a family history of prostate cancer should begin the screening process at age 45.

Craft Show at Memorial University Medical Center

Memorial University Medical Center’s Department of Volunteer Services is sponsoring a Craft Show to raise money for new uniforms. This event is open to the public and will be held on Friday, June 11 from 8 am to 5 pm in the open breezeway under Parking Lot C at the hospital. Please support this event and help dress up our Volunteers!

There are also spaces available if you would like to participate as a vendor. The cost to be a vendor is $20 for a 10-foot space without a table and $25 for a 10-foot space with a six-foot table provided.
