Irene Sullivan Gallery

On the Water, Saturday, July 24 – Saturday, September 18

The Irene Sullivan Gallery features the work of Tiffani Taylor, Ann Jackson, Skye Tarr, Ting Blessington and Janice Bentley. Beginning in July, the gallery will display paintings of the award-winning artist Skye Tarr in an exhibit called “On the Water.” Tarr’s oil-on-canvas paintings reflect landscapes of the Low Country. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, July 24 from 5-8 p.m.

Diane von Furstenberg is a fashion designer who is most known for her timeless knitted jersey wrap dress. Von Furstenberg originated the wrap dress in the 1970s and it continues to be a staple in wardrobes today. Journey of a Dress celebrates her astonishing career and influence on the world of fashion.

Savannah offers an eclectic variety of events this season. This year Summer Camps are all the rage! From SCAD to the YMCA, local youth camps offer several different focuses. Some foster the creative mind and others encourage physical fitness and extended learning. Additional camps include, Coastal Empire Flight Training’s Aviation Summer Camp and and the Tybee Island Marine Science Center Sea Camp.

Last Saturday, Savannah’s own Tiffani Taylor debuted her lastest collection of paintings titled “Expressionistic Marsh Landscapes,” at the Irene Sullivan Gallery on Tybee Island. The event showcased some of Taylor’s most recent paintings and showed the magnificent beauty of the marsh and how they are communicated through the artistic prowess of Tiffani Taylor.

Taylor’s paintings capture the essence of coastal landscapes, landmarks and an array of poppy fields in the most beautiful, uniquely ornate and intriguing ways. Many came out in support of Taylor, including South Magazine’s Publisher and Creative Director Michael Brooks and his family.
