You could say they knocked—and rocked—it out of the park this Saturday.

Forsyth Park, that is.

On a picture perfect Saturday afternoon, hundreds gathered in Forsyth Park for the first-ever Square Fest, a free all-day outdoor concert featuring some of the area’s finest hip hop, rock and metal musicians. The list of performers included the following acts, in order of appearance: Sunglow, Lyn Avenue, Sincerely Iris, Listen 2 Three, Dope Sandwich & Elephant Talk, Emoticon, Kota Mundi, The Royal Noise, KidSyc@Brandywine, Savannah Party Starters and Word of Mouth.

This Sunday, May 6th, Forsyth Park will be filled from 12:00 – 4:00 P.M. with canine lovers and their pets during the 2012 Doggie Carnival, a fundraising event to benefit the Humane Society for Greater Savannah. The day will be filled with great food, carnival games, contests, raffles, prizes and the best dog-watching Savannah has to offer. Don’t miss out on interacting with Chatham County Sherriff’s Office K9 Unit demonstration offering a Q & A session with the officer, as well as an amazing canine agility & frisbee show featuring 10 aerobatic dynamo dogs.

The City of Savannah presents the much-loved Savannah tradition, Picnic in the Park, in Forsyth Park on Sunday, Oct. 2. The event will feature an evening of live music, family, and picnics big and small.

Sierra Club will be hosting a fun, family friendly game of Kickin’ Coal Kickball in the South End of Forsyth Park to teach Savannah area residents about how much water is wasted during dirty energy production and show support for clean energy.
