An Ultra Adventure
It typically takes 4 to 5 days to complete all 260 miles of an ultramarathon. Runners often camp or sleep on the side of the road to rest. Are you up for the challenge?
Three years ago, as John Teeples drove from Savannah back to his home in Columbus, Georgia, he couldn’t help but wonder, “Why haven’t I tried running this before?” Granted, most people don’t contemplate traversing 260 miles by foot, but Teeples isn’t your average Joe. He’s what you’d call an extreme athlete, and he represents a unique class of athletes known as ultramarathoners.

Stroller Strut at Parris Island Track
Stroller Strut at Parris Island Track. This is a FREE class designed for moms with babies in strollers. You can work at your own pace and get the kiddos some fresh air. To get to the track, drive as if you are going to the Commissary but instead of turning right, keep straight and go pass the Parade Deck. You will pass Navy Federal and the Post office and then make your first right and you will run into the gym. I spoke with the instructor, Pamela, who is certified in pre and post natal fitness and she will be offering a Toddlercise program in additon to the stroller strut. The toddlercise will take place at the beginning of the Stroller Strut class and last about 20 minutes or so. You can contact them at 843-228-1504.

The South’s Guide to Getting Out
It’s one of those breezy, 75-degree Savannah spring days, and all you can think of is a way to get out of the office and into the sunshine. Yet once you’ve been freed from the confines of three cubical walls, you can’t quite figure how to best embrace the perfect weather.
If you are experiencing this situation at least once a week, you probably have what’s commonly referred to as “yadunnowhattodo-itis.” Don’t worry; it’s not fatal. But if left untreated, it could lead to a severe case of spring fever. The South’s Guide to Getting Out has been proven to reduce the symptoms of this debilitating condition, by offering suggestions for what to do on those irresistibly sunny days. Read it twice and call us in the morning. Oh yeah, and we are responsible for any pleasant side effects.
