6th Annual Savannah Book Festival Valentine’s Day marks the beginning of this four-day literary event. This year’s guest authors include local chef Bobby Deen, musician Gregg Allman, popular author James Patterson, and many other noteworthy wordsmiths. Donations of $150 or $350 allow access to special events, discounts, and a “Friend of the Festival” membership. Tickets for individual events can be purchased at savannahboxoffice.com. Drink and be merry… for a cause! Savannah’s 2012 SantaCon pub crawl is about more than spreading Christmas cheer to local residents – it’s also a toy drive. In the holiday spirit, every Santa is recommended to bring an inexpensive toy worth about $10 to donate. Like year past, Santas will also be passing out naughty and nice gifts throughout the day.

Santas, or other holiday characters such as elves or Jack Frost, are urged to get creative with their attire to attend the event. The more festive the group looks, the more fun participants and on-lookers will have! The annual celebration will take place within Broughton Street, Congress Street, River Street and City Market on December 15 at 1 p.m. For convenience purposes, only cash will be accepted at the participating bars. The crawl starts at B&D Burgers.

Let your spouse know you’d do it all over again. Join us as Rev. William Hester leads a romantic, moving ceremony renewing your marriage vows. Prizes from City Market shops will be awarded in various categories, such as couple married the longest, with the most children, etc. The ceremony begins at 7 p.m and will be held outside in the courtyard, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at an alternate location in the City Market area.
