The DREAM Project Foundation is a non-profit organization helping to end human trafficking through developing a supportive community and receiving aid from the people. Human trafficking is a global concern working its way into local communities. The DREAM Project Foundation supports and houses over 30 stateless children along the Thai-Burmese border. These children have nowhere else to go and DREAM House keeps these children safe and gives them education and care to grow and lead a life free of fear from having no food, family or from the possibility of being trafficked.

The Telfair Ball and Bash was held at the Telfair Academy to benefit the Telfair’s unique exhibitions, educational programs and acquisitions. Attended by NUMBER of Telfair members, including BIG NAMES, the event was a rousing success.

SCAD’s 14th Annual Scholarship Gala will be held Saturday, February 2, at Poetter Hall on Bull Street. The Gala celebrates art, education and student success, and raises funds for the university.

If you love dogs and truly consider them man’s best friend then head to the first annual Savannah Bark-B-Que hosted by the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort this Saturday, June 18th. It’s a fundraiser to raise money to build a new low-cost spay and neuter clinic for Savannah’s burgeoning pet overpopulation. Oliver Bentley’s Barking Bakery, along with the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort, will be hosting the event.

The Rape Crisis Center will be hosting “The UnMaskarade,” a benefit for the Rape Crisis Center Saturday, Feb. 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Hoskins Center at Memorial Health UMC. Masquerade cocktail attire is encouraged.

The event will feature entertainment and dancing with Do Good DJ’s.

There will also be silent and live auctions with emcees Sheila Parker of WSAV and Jesse Blanco of WJCL. Among the items up for auction are a week at a fabulous five-bedroom, 9,500-sq.-ft. villa in Costa Rica; dinner for eight by SAVOR Savannah at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center; two nights at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront with breakfast and spa treatment; and a $249 gift certificate to Target.

Savannah Used Car Warehouse has donated a car to be raffled off; tickets are only $5 each. The winner may choose the car or $1,500 in cash.

Tickets are $75 per person or $500 per table for eight. Cost covers the heavy hors d’oeuvres and more. Call the Rape Crisis Center for tickets for both the gala and the car raffle at 233-3000 or online at www.rccsav.org

The 11th Annual gala will salute Westerns: classic books, films and television series. There will be an auction and raffle. Sweets and coffee will be served.

Reservations are $100. Your best bib and tucker (cocktail) or Western attire is suggested. Prize awarded for best boots!
