The Taste of Art: The DREAM Project
The DREAM Project Foundation is a non-profit organization helping to end human trafficking through developing a supportive community and receiving aid from the people. Human trafficking is a global concern working its way into local communities. The DREAM Project Foundation supports and houses over 30 stateless children along the Thai-Burmese border. These children have nowhere else to go and DREAM House keeps these children safe and gives them education and care to grow and lead a life free of fear from having no food, family or from the possibility of being trafficked.

Front Row Seat: The South Explores the Art of Seating
The humble chair has much in common with most politicians: Neither inspires a great deal of thought unless unduly rigid, overly soft or when they’re conspicuously absent from view. In commemoration of the Telfair Museums exhibits, The Art of Seating: 200 Years of American Design and Sitting in Savannah: Telfair Chairs and Sofas, South explores the history and origins of the chair featuring some of Savannah’s most ardent art supporters posing with their favorites.

Vanguard Venues
Recently, Savannah was chosen as one of the top cities in America for art. And, it’s no wonder. With places such as SCAD and the Jepson Center upping our artistic game, Savannah is becoming a powerhouse in the art world. Some of the best places to see Savannah’s artistic side, however, are the hidden gems and unknown galleries around town.

Seven Artists You Need to Know
Art is everywhere, and especially in Savannah.
In fact, it’s hard to walk around the streets of our beloved city without bumping into some form of creative expression, be it a hand-woven bamboo rose from a craftsman on River Street or just the simple grandeur of a link of Spanish moss sashaying over a downtown square.
In honor of South magazine’s 7th anniversary (copper or wool are the appropriate gifts here, BTW, you can drop them by our offices on Bull Street), here are the stories of seven local artists who defy convention and help to re-define the true meaning of the word artist.
