South magazine has tallied the votes and interviewed the winners for the Greatest Dads contest for the first time in an all new annual contest. We sat down with them to get to know them on a more personal level and photograph them in their most important roles—as fathers—while having fun with their kids.

“My best fatherly advice is to spend as much time as possible with your kids!” says Jason Hurst, one of South’s Greatest Dads winners. He, like all of the six winners, answered questions about his children and gave advice on what it takes to be a great father.
