Isle Of Hope United Methodist Church
The charm of the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church is its simplicity. Despite a devastating fire in the 1980s, the rebuilt church remains the same as it was when built in 1851, with few exceptions. Contact the IOHUMC wedding coordinator at 912.356.9488 for non-member fees. 412 Parkersburg Road • 912.355.8527 • iohumc.com
Bethesda Home For Boys
Founded in 1740, the Bethesda Home for Boys is the country’s oldest child care institution. Trinity Lutheran Church
You simply cannot fail to notice the gorgeous stained glass window of Trinity Lutheran Church. The sun casts bold blocks of color onto the ceramic tile in a way that will leave you mesmerized. At night, lights shine from inside the window for passersby to enjoy. Remarkably, TLC uses the original marble baptismal font from Martin Luther Lutheran Church. 12391 Mercy Boulevard • 912.925.4839 • trinitylutheransavannah.org
Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church
What makes Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church so delightful are the hand-stitched altar kneeling pads, the “Wesley Window,” and the Wesley Gardens Retreat Center. Wesley Gardens is a beautiful 130-acre estate located on Moon River, Burnside Island. The beautiful garden venue with a gazebo and chapel is available to non-members. 429 Abercorn Street • 912.232.0191 • wesleymonumental.org
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
The 19th-century Cathedral of St. John the Baptist boasts a remarkable 81 stained glass windows and a tracker organ. Made of solid white oak and 2,308 pipes, the organ’s music, simply put, is spellbinding. Miraculously, the two enormous French Gothic spires survived a devastating fire in 1898, and the rest of the cathedral has been beautifully reconstructed and restored. The cathedral asks that wedding arrangements be made at least four months in advance. 222 East Harris Street • 912.233.4709 • savannahcathedral.org
