Savannah Preservation Festival Lecture
6:00 p.m.

Where: Congregation Mickve Israel, 20 Gordon Street

Part of The Savannah Preservation Festival 2013, this year’s lecture “Urban Village Narratives” will be presented by Andree Iffrig, award-winning architect, community builder, storyteller and professional writer. The lecture is free and open to the public and supported by the Georgia Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities as well as appropriations from the Georgia General Assembly. The lecture begins at 6:00, with a reception following.

An Evening Of Opera And Songs

Last season’s “Tuscan Sunset” at the Ruddy’s Villa Fiori sold out, added on, and sold out again, so the party is being reprised with a new menu, but the same stellar setting and entertainers. The Villa, designed by the owner, has been featured in Savannah Magazine and American Dream Homes. Impressive art acquired during their careers and travels with World Bank and United Nations Assignments fill their home. As night comes on, sopranos Rebecca Flaherty and Maria Zouves, accompanied by Tim Hall, will entertain guests with favorite operatic arias and songs. You will indulge your senses—eyes, taste, and ears—with a night of delicious dining and soaring sopranos in a spectacular setting.

Hilton Head Savannah Equestrian Exposition

Celebrate the equestrian lifestyle while supporting local charities at the ninth annual Equestrian Exposition fundraiser at Rose Hill Plantation Center on Sunday. SCAD Fashion Show
4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Presenting the collections of top graduation seniors, Savannah College of Art and Design will premiere 2013 student fashion at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Trustees Theater. The students are selected by a jury process and critiqued every step from sketches to garments by some of the top professionals in the fashion industry. Tickets will go on sale in early May. Tickets for the 4 p.m. show are $20 for general public, $10 with SCAD ID, for the 8 p.m. show tickets are $50 for the general public $25 with a SCAD ID. 216 E. 5th Annual REVVED up for Autism Car, Truck & Bike show

The Kicklighter Resource Center, Inc. will be hosting its 5th annual Revved up for Autism Car, Truck & Bike Show on May 18, 2013 at the National Guard Armory off of Eisenhower in Savannah, Ga. This event is being held to help spread awareness for autism and to aid in raising funds for Kicklighter Academy, an early learning center working to improve the life for children with autism and other developmental and physical disabilities. Pre-registration is going on now, so enter your vehicle. Pre-registration fee is only $15.00 and will be accepted until May 15, 2013. Day of event registration will be $20.00. 1st Annual Gracious Southern Gardens Tour

This self-guided tour takes approximately three and a half hours to complete and encompasses a six-mile area within the Southbridge community. Each garden has a distinct flavor representing its owner. Docents will be available at each garden to assist guests and answer questions. Included in the price of each ticket is a tea party featuring homemade sandwiches, cookies and beverages.

The six-time Tony Award-winning musical smash hit Chicago is one of Broadway’s most popular and thrilling musicals of all time! This tale of greed, murder, corruption and show biz is filled with hit songs such as “All That Jazz,” “Cell Block Tango” and “Razzle Dazzle.” Tickets are 44 for adults and 31 for children 4-15.
