Classic Westerns Weekend

Saddle up this summer and set yer spurs a’janglin’. The Lucas is pleased to bring three great Westerns to the big screen in Savannah. But that’s not all! SCMPD Mounted Patrol is bringing their horses down to the front of the Lucas on June 29th. And all day on June 30th, Skillets and Spurs will be set up outside the theatre.

Tickets will be $8 each, or a pass for all three is $15.

3:10 to Yuma is a remake of the 1957 film of the same name, making it the second adaptation of Elmore Leonard’s short story Three-Ten to Yuma. Russell Crowe plays a desperado whose accomplices stage an ambush after he is taken into custody by a determined local sheriff. James Mangold directs a script based on the Elmore Leonard short story and penned by Stuart Beattie, Michael Brandt, and Derek Haas. The film received two Academy Award nominations for the 80th Academy Awards. Marco Beltrami was nominated for Best Original Score, and Paul Massey, David Giammarco, and Jim Stuebe were nominated for Best Sound Mixing. The film also received a nomination for Best Cast at the 14th Screen Actors Guild Awards.
