The Coffee Bluff Marine Rescue Squadron will be holding its annual Barbecue Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Squadron’s Coffee Bluff facility located at the end of White Bluff Road on the Forrest River. The barbecue will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. This popular event sells over 3,000 dinners and requires cooking 3,400 pounds of pork! Dinners will cost $7.00 each and include Barbecue, cole slaw, Brunswick Stew and a roll.
The Coffee Bluff Marine Rescue Squadron is a non-profit marine search and rescue operation that provides hundreds of man hours annually on various missions. Those missions range from search and rescue of stranded boaters and support of local authorities in drowning victim searches to water safety support at marine events. All activities of the MRS are executed by experienced volunteers at no charge to boaters.
