A Taste of A.lure
This evening, try a sampling of A.lure, a new restaurant specializing in contemporary Lowcountry cuisine for $15 at the door. All proceeds from the tasting will go to help Second Harvest, a volunteer-driven nonprofit food bank.
Owner Daniel Berman brings his love of the Lowcountry and his appreciation of produce straight from the farm to every table. With a unique blend of locally grown organic produce, seafood and meat, A.lure is a new approach to traditional Southern favorites from shrimp and grits, to a Lowcountry boil.

Karaoke for Chloe
Savannahians love to rally together in support of a good cause, which is just what they did Saturday night at McDonough’s during Karaoke for Chloe. Add to the mix a microphone, stage and a few inhibition-releasing libations, and you have the ingredients for a raucous night of fun and fundraising. Karaoke contestants donated $30 for a chance to win prizes while helping to support the Auner family who is struggling to care for their 2-year-old daughter Chloe who was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in 1 out of 15,000 births. A silent auction upstairs helped raise funds to make their home wheelchair accessible for Chloe who is unable to walk.

Tybee Island hits national news
CNN has chosen Tybee Island as the location for one of their Hometown Heroes segments. The segment will film the lighting and release of hundreds of eco-friendly, Chinese lanterns, symbolizing peace and prosperity, over the beautiful Tybee waters. There have been a few hic-ups concerning fire safety, so there is a slight possibility that the release could be moved from Tybee’s north beach to the parking lot of North Beach Grille. The event will take place tomorrow at sunrise and sunset.
