Sweet Carolina Celebrates Sweet Success with a Pink Ribbon Cutting

Alderman Van Johnson, Eat It and Like It foodie Jesse Blanco and other distinguished guests were on hand to celebrate a special ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of Sweet Carolina Cupcakes on Whitaker Street in downtown Savannah Thursday morning. Owner Holly Slayton and her brother Tyler thanked everyone for their warm welcome before cutting a big pink ribbon with Alderman Johnson and inviting everyone inside their brightly decorated shop to enjoy mini red velvet, wedding cake and classic vanilla cupcakes—all of which were adorned with sprinkles, of course.

After enjoying success in Hilton Head since 2008, Holly and Tyler decided to come across the bridge and open up shop in Savannah. With a menu that changes daily and features traditional flavors like classic chocolate and vanilla, as well as more creative flavors like velvet Elvis, rocky road and éclair Sweet Carolina has something for everyone. Stop by their Open House on Saturday, September 15 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and sample your favorite cupcake and grab a cup of fresh-brewed coffee and a cup-cookie for later. Live music starts at 6 p.m. and cupcake specials throughout the day will satisfy your sweet tooth.
