SCENES of the Week

On Wednesday, locals enjoyed “Cocktails at the Crypt,” this summer’s newest mid-week wind-down event. Every second Wednesday of the month, The Crypt will host an evening of socializing, live music, raffled gifts, delicious signature cocktails, and tapas-style treats while raising money for local charitable organizations. This month they are collecting items for Savannah’s SAFE Shelter. Click here to see photos from the event.

Johnnie Ganem’s, Savannah’s oldest locally owned and operated package shop, celebrated its 70th anniversary with an outdoor cocktail reception Thursday afternoon. All of Savannah came out to recognize the Ganem family including Mayor Edna Jackson and Chatham County Commission Chairman Pete Liakakis. Click here to see photos from the event.

Paula Deen and the American Red Cross teamed up for a Blood Drive at three locations last Friday including The Lady and Sons Restaurant, the Inn at Ellis Square, and Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House. Donors received a limited edition apron signed by Paula Deen, a $40 gift card, and a Lady and Sons signature gooey butter cake. Click here to see photos from the event.

Runners faced 4.3 miles of mud, dirt, water and obstacles including water gauntlets, logs, and a plunge during JCB’s Mud Run Saturday. To see the fearless runners who faced the challenge, click here.
