Midnight Garden Ride

The 4th Annual Midnight Garden Ride takes place this Saturday, September 1 at 8 p.m. Leaving from Telfair Square, this year’s route will revisit some of the popular sites from previous years while adding a few new ones. The anticipated 600-plus cyclists, complete with a police escort, will snake their way through Downtown on a nearly 10-mile ride heading to Daffin Park and then back to Telfair Square.

The ride will take a little over an hour, and music will be provided on rolling stereos pedaled by The Fool’s Brigade. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the best individual and group “come as you aren’t” riders. This epic bike ride will be followed with the Good and Evil Party, kicked off by This Mountain. Headlining is Atlanta based band Ponderosa, whose sophomore album Pool Party was just released by New West Records.

On-site registration will be available Saturday from 6 – 7:30 for $30 for SBC members and $40 for non-members. Registration includes entry to the after ride concert. Music lovers can attend the concert only for $10. Proceeds of the Midnight Garden Ride benefit the Savannah Bicycle Campaign, a non-profit group working to build a better Savannah through bicycles.
