This weekend is all about giving back, to the environment, to the community, to those who’ve served. Chose from any of these great events to have a fun-filled weekend in the Lowcountry.

Friday, September 14
The Second Annual Warrior Classic Golf Tournament benefitting The Wounded Warrior Project, 11 a.m. at the Westin
They work for our freedom, play in the Warrior Classic and help those injured in the line of duty. Held at the Westin’s PGA course, registration and lunch begins at 11 a.m. along with complimentary massages. The tournament tees off at 1p.m. with teams playing in fours. Meet and hear the stories of local Wounded Warriors at this wonderful event sponsored by Spine & Sport.

Savannah Ocean Exchange – Leap to Zero+ 2012, All Day at Tybee Island

This weekend marks the culmination of Savannah Ocean Exchange’s yearlong efforts of collaboration and research for this community forum on ocean conservation. Join the Exchange all weekend for a variety of events. Here are some of the highlights. Find the rest at oceanexchange.org.
• Festival de Ocean, 10-4 p.m. at the Tybee Island Pavilion: Variety of interactive exhibits from local ocean science partners. Pilot and ROV, hold a sea urchin, drive a robot, or play with a life-size model dolphin! Arrive early to AJ’s on the Back River at 7am to register for the Sea Kayak and Paddleboard Races.
• Leap to Zero Juried Art Exhibition, 9 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. at Cockspur Island at Fort Pulaski Highway 80 East: Friends of Cockspur Lighthouse present a juried art exhibit made from found objects. The exhibit displays work of four different classes divided according to age. Top three winners in each class take home certificates and cash
Tunnel to Towers Run, 8 a.m. Orleans Square

On September 11, 2001, 34-year-old firefighter Stephen Siller took his final heroic steps as he ran with his gear strapped on his back through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center to help save others. Join this run in the memory of this brave public servant.

MAD Monday’s at the Westin’s Club at Savannah Harbor

After your busy weekend, hop on over to Hutchinson Island for some musical “r and r”. Each third Monday this fall, join Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra for an evening of swing band fun. This 17-piece orchestra is sure to entertain along with martinis and a tapas-style dinner. The Westin will feature their famous Shrimp & Grits Bar where you can choose your own toppings.
