Express’ Rock the Sidewalk comes to Savannah

When it comes to fashion, Savannahians are as in know as any New Yorker. As testimony to our trend setting fashionistas, Express is taking over Monterey Square Friday at 6:30 p.m. for an outdoor fashion show. The high turnout for similar Express runway shows in New York, Chicago and Las Vegas set the stage for this must see event.

“Our holiday collection needed to be in a location that enhanced and complimented the clothing,” explains Jennifer Bayley, Express’ senior manager of public relations. “The charm and Southern elegance of Savannah reflects our collection.” Expect to see tuxedo jackets worn over dresses with pops of colored fur in the women’s collection, and bow ties with colored jeans for the men.

A 70-foor runway has been constructed at Gordon and Bull streets, and the public is invited to join the party for free. The images from the fashion show will be in over 600 stores, and delivered to over 12 million people through the catalog and direct mailings. Express will have other freebies at the event, including bottles of Hint Water. Those who come to strut their stuff in Express clothing will have chances to win gift cards.
