Dan Winters: An Exhibition of Science, Technology, Celebrity and Human Ingenuity
Dan Winters may best be known for his compelling photographs of contemplative celebrities, but if you think this is where the breadth of his artwork ends you’d be very wrong. His interest in science, technology and human life has influenced his entire body of work, which is evident in his scientific photography, drawings, collages and photojournalism.
His latest exhibition, Dan Winters’s America: Icons and Ingenuity, encapsulates all this in a display of over 100 examples of his art in a variety of mediums. The show runs from September 14 to November 11 at the Telfair’s Jepson Center here in Savannah. An opening reception featuring a lecture by Winters will be held Thursday, September 13 at the Jepson at 6 p.m. Admission is free for members or with the price of museum admission.
Visit Telfair.org for more information about the show and Winters’ work.
