Blick Art Supplies Opens with a Bang

West Broughton Street was abuzz with energy Thursday, September 13 as Blick celebrated its Grand Opening event. Giveaways began at 8 a.m. with goodie bags filled with $100 worth of art supplies and continued throughout the day. Blick T-shirts, reusable shopping bags, illustration boards and mat boards and more were thrust into the hands of local artists, students and downtown enthusiasts who poured into the store to peruse its seemingly endless aisles of materials. Live music performances, food and festive decorations completed the celebratory atmosphere.

The Downtown Business Association president Ruel Joyner and City of Savannah Mayor Pro Tem Van Johnson joined with Blick President of Retail Ed Ogorzaly and Robin Reeder of longtime beloved local business Primary to commemorate the store’s opening. Ogorzaly highlighted in his short speech that 100 percent of Primary’s employees moved down Broughton Street to Blick, ensuring the downtown store’s quality of service will remain top-notch to supplement the best selection of art supplies at the lowest prices in a range of 40 miles.

Blick’s Grand Opening event isn’t over yet! The celebration continues until September 27, when there will be raffles all day to give away high quality art goodies. And don’t miss Blick Madness on Thursday, September 20, which will be a day filled with fun and savings. Check out their list of events for more classes, discounts and demos through the end of the month.
