48 Hour Film Project: Savannah

Is it possible to make a film worth watching in only 48 hours? That was the question Mark Ruppert and filmmaking partner Liz Langston asked themselves 10 years ago before starting a small experiment. With over 19,000 films made in the decade since, the answer is a resounding yes. This year’s 48 Hour Film Project will take place in 120 cities across six continents, with a strict set of rules to follow.

The 48 Hour Film Project kicks off in Savannah this Friday night, August 24, at McDonough’s at 6 p.m. Each team will be given a character, a prop, a line of dialogue to include in the film as well as the genre of the film. By 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night (yes, that’s right, on August 26) the film must be completed and dropped off at McDonough’s.

Think you’re ready for the challenge? The 48 Hour Film Project has eight confirmed teams already and the registration is still open. Find out how to register on their website or on Facebook.
