Five Hints for Making the Most of Your Ski Trip
Creating a memorable vacation is all about the right balance between planning and cutting loose, and skiing is no different. If our Beech Mountain article in the Health and Wellness Issue got your inner ski bunny revving, here are five helpful hints for making the most of your trip:
Take Advantage
Don’t be hesitant to take advantage of any discounts, passes and coupons a resort may offer. For example, Beech Alpen Inn offers 10 percent off starting at two days to more than 30 percent off for seven or more days spent at the resort. Also, some resorts, such as Beech Mountain Resort, also offer military discounts.
Plan, Plan, Plan
If you are planning to stay for more than a few days at a resort, it’s best to have a schedule of events. Make a list and call in advance to confirm all of your plans at least five days ahead of checking in.
Safety First!
It’s easy to get caught up in the fun, but you should stay aware of your surroundings as well. You can have weather info at your fingertips by keeping your web browser on averyweather.com or weather.com for up-to-date with alerts.
Join Together
If you are price conscious, or just looking for deals, consider resort group rates. This is the best way to split costs, but don’t forget that resorts often have ski training programs, which make grouping an attractive option as well.
Minor Issues
Bringing along children? You should check into whether the resort has a nursery. Some resorts will have modest fees for accommodating minors. Beech Mountain Resort has reservations for infants and toddlers ranging from $25 to $50, depending on your schedule.
