To help showcase the greatest Southerners around, South magazine hosts six reader-based contests a year. Varying in theme from The South’s Greatest Kids to The Hottest Singles, the winners of the contests are all featured in an editorial spread shot by one of our award-winning photographers.
In the South, there’s never a shortage of things to shoot. From the Lowcountry landscapes to the eccentric locals, artists with an eye for perfectly framing Southern subjects can find a gold mine right outside their door. So it’s no wonder that when we launched our second photography contest, entries came from everywhere. Judged by an expert panel, here are the standouts…
Are you or someone you know fit as a fiddle? For our April/May, we are looking for the hottest bodies in the South to appear in a photo shoot by one of South’s award-winning photographers.
Last year, over the span of a month, incorporating all forms of social media, thousands of Savannahians nominated and voted their favorite locals, to be part of our exclusive list of the city’s hottest and most eligible singles of the South. Now its your turn to become this year’s hottest single! Our most anticipated contest of the year is finally back, South magazine is proud to announce the Fifth Annual Hottest Singles of the South.
It’s about time man’s best friend got a little love. For the second year in a row, South wants to feature your furry, feathered and friendly pets in the magazine. The contest is broken up into categories to include pets of every size and shape. The winners from each category will be photographed by a highly skilled editorial photographer and will appear in a our August / September issue.
The South is known for its soul food, and savannah’s dining scene sure doesn’t disappoint. However, as a city that’s brimming with all sorts of culinary talent and backgrounds, the possibilities are endless. Show us what you’ve got, and enter the greatest grub contest!
