Savannahians love to rally together in support of a good cause, which is just what they did Saturday night at McDonough’s during Karaoke for Chloe. Add to the mix a microphone, stage and a few inhibition-releasing libations, and you have the ingredients for a raucous night of fun and fundraising. Karaoke contestants donated $30 for a chance to win prizes while helping to support the Auner family who is struggling to care for their 2-year-old daughter Chloe who was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in 1 out of 15,000 births. A silent auction upstairs helped raise funds to make their home wheelchair accessible for Chloe who is unable to walk.

The 5th annual Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest kicks off Friday April 27th at 5pm. The festival, sponsored by the David M. Carmines Memorial Foundation, takes place at Shelter Cove Community Park 5-8pm Friday and 11am-5pm Saturday the 28th.

SCAD’s Sidewalk Arts Festival is a local tradition that has over the years gained recognition well beyond the boundaries of Savannah. Its 31st annual installment comes to Forsyth Park this Saturday, April 28th, with art gracing its surrounding sidewalks by artists of all disciplines.

Brooklyn-based duo Boom Chick will be playing Livewire Music Hall on River Street this Friday, April 27th. The show is part of a national tour in support of their recently-released single “Shake Can Well”.

Fresh off a smash-hit Broadway revival, the show features proverbial mad men tackling 1960s corporate America. With the aid of a trusty self-help book, wily window washer J. Pierrepont Finch enjoys a riotous rise up the corporate ladder. Can he get the promotion, the corner office and the girl? The show, featuring great big musical dance numbers, is one of the most popular and funniest of all time, winner of 10 Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize.

Those familiar with the classic “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” will definitely remember Charlie Daniels Band. Daniels is a legend within the country and southern rock genres, writing and performing since as early as the 1950s. Over the years he has put out over 20 full-length albums and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008.

It’s that time of year again–the time to support local record stores and independent music nationwide. On Saturday April 21st, Audio Video Warehouse on Abercorn will hold a massive celebration complete with exclusive sales and performances in honor of Record Store Day.

CNN has chosen Tybee Island as the location for one of their Hometown Heroes segments. The segment will film the lighting and release of hundreds of eco-friendly, Chinese lanterns, symbolizing peace and prosperity, over the beautiful Tybee waters. There have been a few hic-ups concerning fire safety, so there is a slight possibility that the release could be moved from Tybee’s north beach to the parking lot of North Beach Grille. The event will take place tomorrow at sunrise and sunset.

The Savannah-based band Listen 2 Three will release their second, full-length, studio album, self-titled Listen 2 Three this Thursday, April 19, at Coach’s Corner Soundgarden off of Victory Drive.

Coach’s Corner will be providing food and drink specials for the party, and Listen 2 Three will have a merchandise table where guests can purchase their debut album, Play It By Ear, their new album, and their newly designed t-shirts and stickers. The show is for all ages to rock out, but to take part in the drink specials, guests must be 21 and older. Doors are open at 6:30 p.m., and the band will take the stage around 8:00 p.m.
