“We’re very proud to receive awards of this caliber. MAGS is known for recognizing the best in the Southeast, and to be in the company of other magazines like Garden & Gun, Charlotte Magazine and TechNation is a huge honor,” said Brooks. “We work very hard to represent Savannah and this region with a quality magazine. To bring recognition to this area through these awards is gratifying and worth every ounce of effort.”
South magazine is known for its edgy and current content and interesting design. Brooks says he was elated about winning a gold award for best single cover. He says the judges’ comments were entertaining. “From the layered photography to the over the top photo with its rockabilly model, double fisting a hookah, it takes on all convention and stakes a claim of ‘screw you and your time honored past’ and it delivers on its promise.”
MAGS is an organization of individuals and corporations involved in the publishing industry within the Southeast, and The GAMMA Awards is the top award ceremony for publishing in the Southeast, which honors and recognizes achievements made in the publishing industry. Entries are judged by a large group of publishing experts.
